3D Studies
Serendipity is a critical aspect to the way I work. My recent 3D ceramic works have been assemblages of independant parts that are assembled into larger compositions. Most Often, the parts are pre-conceived ideas that are cut from flat slabs of material and manipulated into their final form. The leftover slab material from this process is then used to create random parts that may be incorporated into an existing work in process, or into an independant piece.
These 3d studies are explorations of how these parts relate to each other to create final compositions. Shot on a cell phone, with little consideration for quality of the photo, they are reminders to myself regarding how I want to asssemble the final glazed parts.
